High heels catapult yourself into a higher orbit in terms of style quotient. The reasons for wearing high heels are many including boosting your career growth. However all types of high heels may not be giving you the same kind of freedom and comfort to your feet while walking. Here we are discussing the types of heels which are most suitable for you if your day involves largely walking.
1 Prefer heels with your natural heel height or lesser
Walking would be straining your feet a lot if you wear high heels with heel height greater than your natural heel height. If your day involves largely sitting taller high heels may not be much of a problem. So it is worthwhile to measure your natural heel height and stay within that limit.

2 Choose high heel sandals with broader straps
If you are wearing high heel sandals, choose the ones with broader straps. This is because walking would push your feet against the straps hard. If the straps are narrow, the pressure you feel on your skin due to the straps would be very high. The narrow straps may even cause marks on your skin. So always choose broad straps if your supposed to walk a lot.
3 Go for peep toe heels
The toes sweat a lot while walking. Peep toe heels would give a ‘breathing’ space for the toes and thereby easing the sweating. If you are wearing closed toe high heels the sweat may accumulate and the insole may become slippery. It can also develop bad odour by the end of the day.

4 Avoid pointed toe heels
Pointed toe heels will pull all your toes together. This can create two major problems if you are walking a lot in those shoes. Toe deformity is one of such problems and fungus infection is another. The fungus infection is largely due to the excessive sweating as a result of walking when the toes are pulled together. So avoid pointed toe heels altogether if your day involves walking a lot.

5 Prefer chunky heels
Chunky (thicker) heels are more stable because of its broader base. This will give you more stability while walking. Increased stability would give you more confidence while walking.

6 Avoid ultra high heels
Ultra high heels are difficult to walk in. Moreover the shoes become unstable. So always avoid ultra high heels if supposed to walk a lot through the day. Be within your natural heel height or you can even choose ideal heel height for different occasions as well.
7 Go for heels with more coverage on the top
More coverage on the top gives more comfort for your feet from the top. This would exert lesser pressure on your skin from the top. This is really good for walking in those shoes.
8 Avoid wedge heels and platform heels if walking a lot
Wedge heels are not flexible. This may not be good for walking because your feet should be bending naturally on all the joints while walking. So wedges are not so suitable for walking a lot in them. Platform heels are also less flexible and they are having a different problem as well. Platforms have higher toe area which make the shoes highly unstable. This may not pose much problem if you are walking very less. But if walking a lot avoid platforms heels as well as wedge heels.

9 Avoid slip on high heel sandals
Slip on high heels may ‘slip off’ very easily while walking. So it may not be good idea to wear slip on heels if you plan to walk a lot during the day.
